Program Description
This certificate prepares students for entry-level positions dealing with the production of precision optics for use in cameras, projectors, eye wear, microscopes, telescopes, domestic appliances and binoculars. Students will learn the necessary techniques to produce precision spherical and plane optics to specifications, correct lens/prism surfaces, and fabricate optics for multiple uses, from 3D-projector technology, to national defense applications.

Career Opportunities
Upon completion of this program students will be qualified for occupations including: Laser Technician, Optics Technician, Electronics/Optics Technician, Optical Technician. Crossover skills may also qualify them for additional occupations in other manufacturing sectors including: avionics technicians, and manufacturing production technicians.
