My Academic Plan

My Academic Plans (MAPs) are designed by faculty and displayed in a semester format showing the fastest path to finishing your certificate or degree. While this is the ideal, you can take courses as your schedule permits. Contact an academic advisor regarding your scheduling needs.

In most cases, the courses you need are available on your selected campus. However, there may be times to complete courses online or travel to another FRCC campus. Location availability is indicated at the time of registration.

Program Description

This program aligns with a statewide articulation agreement that allows Area Technical College (ATC) graduates at Delta-Montrose Technical College, Emily Griffith Technical College and Pickens Technical College to transfer up to 45 credits of transfer credit from an approved certificatetoward the completion of an AAS degree in Applied Technology. The Applied Technology AAS degree requires the completion of at least 60 credits with at least 15 credits completed at FRCC and selected from the Approved Elective List. All courses must be completed with a "C" or better for students to graduate from this program. Please view First Semester below for required courses & recommended elective courses. 

1Approved certificate is a certificate program approved by the State Board for Community Colleges and Occupational Education (SBCCOE).

Getting Into the Program

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

To enter the Applied Technology program, students must meet the following admission requirements:

1. Complete an approved certificate from an Area Technical College (ATC) either Delta-Montrose Technical College, Emily Griffith Technical College or Pickens Technical College.  

2. Achieve equivalent testing scores to meet pre/co-requisite requirements (e.g. ENG 121 or higher); course pre/co-requisite requirements may vary depending on the approved elective coursework selected. 

NOTE: Individual coursework from the technical college is credited to the student’s transcript upon completion of the requirements of both institutions. Students may enroll concurrently at both a technical college and at FRCC. Students must comply with the regulations and requirements relating to admission and attendance at each institution.

What You Will Learn

PROGRAM LEARNING OUTCOMES

As a result of the completion of the Applied Technology Program students will be able to:

- Demonstrate knowledge of completed general education coursework complementary to their program learning outcomes obtained through the completion of an approved certificate at the Area Technical College of their choice.

- Demonstrate knowledge of completed coursework emphasizing written & oral communication skills, ethics, and management skills or the demonstration of knowledge of completed coursework emphasizing academic rigor and breadth and/or depth of a variety of subject areas as recommended in the categories & courses section.
