AA in Spanish
First Semester
Courses should be completed in the order listed below. If you are unable to complete the entire semester list, complete as many courses in this sequence as your schedule allows. Credits for Spanish courses may be earned through testing options; however, 4-year institutions may not accept CLEP tests or challenge exams. This may invalidate the AA degree for transfer. Students should contact the receiving institution to request a written response about which credits will transfer. Part-time students should continue taking the sequence of Spanish courses. Those students who have higher proficiency level than is required for SPA 211 or SPA 112 should substitute other Arts & Humanities courses. Heritage speakers may want to substitute SPA 261 and SPA 262 if available. Milestone course.

You can take SPA 114 (Fast Track Spanish I and Spanish II) instead of SPA 112. SPA 114 is designed for students who have studied two years of the target language in high school and possess linguistic and cultural knowledge that true beginners do not, but are not ready for intermediate level because they need an in-depth review of essential structures.
