Patient Care Technician - Certificate
The Patient Care Technician (PCT) certificate is a two semester program designed to prepare students for entry-level work in a variety of healthcare environments, such as clinics, hospitals, nursing homes or long term care facilities. Patient Care Technicians care for patients under the supervision of a doctor or nurse. This program offers students stackable certificates in Nurse Aide, Phlebotomy, Electrocardiogram, and Healthcare Customer Services Basics that can be completed while working toward completion of the Patient Care Technician certificate for a total of 25 credits and two semesters in length. This certificate is comprised of lectures, labs and clinical internship experiences in the health care field. Once students complete the requirements of the Patient Care Technician program, they are eligible to take the National Certified Patient Care Technician (NCPCT) exam through the National Health Association.
