Optics Technology - Certificate
This award has been approved by CCCS and the Higher Learning Commission. It has also been submitted to the U.S. Department of Education (ED), but is currently under review and not eligible for financial aid at this time. Upon ED approval, this statement will be removed and a note placed in our Catalog Addendum noting the date of financial aid approval.
This certificate prepares students for entry-level positions dealing the production of precision optics for use in cameras, projectors, eye wear, microscopes, telescopes, domestic appliances and binoculars. Students will learn the necessary techniques to produce precision spherical and plane optics to specifications, corrects lens/prism surfaces, and fabricate optics multiple uses, from 3D-projector technology, to national defense applications.
