Dental Hygiene Associate of Applied Science
Program Description
This program is designed for students wanting to complete a seven-semester AAS Degree in Dental Hygiene and enter the workforce. This program prepares individuals to clean teeth and apply preventive materials; provide oral health education and treatment counseling to patients; identify oral pathologies and injuries; and manage dental hygiene practices. Includes instruction in dental anatomy, microbiology, and pathology; dental hygiene theory and techniques; cleaning equipment operation and maintenance; dental materials; radiology; patient education and counseling; office management; supervised clinical training; and professional standards.

The chemistry requirement can be met by completing CHE 1009 (4 credits) or one of the following combinations:
● CHE 1011 (5 credits) and CHE 1012 (5 credits) or
● CHE 1111 (5 credits) and CHE 1112 (5 credits)
