Associate of Science in Health Promotion

Program Description

This program is designed for students wanting to complete the first two years of a Bachelor's degree at Front Range Community College and transfer to Colorado State University – Fort Collins to complete a BS in Exercise Science, Health Promotion Concentration. At the successful completion of this program, students are awarded an Associate of Science in Exercise Science, Health Promotion from FRCC and may transfer into the CSU Major in Health and Exercise Science, Health Promotion Concentration. A degree in Health Promotion offers an exciting career path with a variety of opportunities promoting healthy lifestyle behaviors. Students are encouraged to meet with their FRCC academic advisor and the Health and Wellness Program Lead to ensure they are on the right path and to have their questions answered. FRCC and CSU advising teams will work together to answer your questions and ensure you feel supported on this journey.

What You Will Learn

Upon completion of the program you will be able to:
1.  Demonstrate knowledge of the structure and function of the body
2.  Understand principles of biology, chemistry, and nutrition that underlie human movement and health
3.  Recognize key factors that contribute to chronic disease
4.  Identify and promote positive behaviors of a healthy lifestyle
5.  Be prepared to enter a baccalaureate program in Health Promotion
