Program Description
This program is designed for students wanting to complete a seven-semester AAS Degree in Dental Hygiene and enter the workforce. This program prepares individuals to clean teeth and apply preventive materials; provide oral health education and treatment counseling to patients; identify oral pathologies and injuries; and manage dental hygiene practices. Includes instruction in dental anatomy, microbiology, and pathology; dental hygiene theory and techniques; cleaning equipment operation and maintenance; dental materials; radiology; patient education and counseling; office management; supervised clinical training; and professional standards.

First Semester
Semester Note: Human Anatomy & Physiology I with Lab (BIO 2101) and Human Anatomy & Physiology II with Lab (BIO 2102) can count in replace of Biology: A Human Approach (BIO 1004). Students must have taken both BIO 2101 and BIO 2102 courses for a substitution to be granted.
