Program Description
This program is designed for students wanting to complete a two-year AAS Degree focusing on Integrative Health body work and energy work to enter the workforce as an entry-level practitioner. The AAS Integrative Health Body-Energy degree prepares the student to practice a career in an area of integrative health as a licensed Massage Therapist, certified Reflexologist, certified 200-level Yoga Instructor, and/or energy work practitioner. Students can create their own practice or work alongside other practitioners in the integrative health and medical fields including wellness facilities, spas, specialty health clinics, retirement centers, sports teams, and hospitals. Students study various hands-on integrative health modalities, healing methods, and ethical issues. This program is based on a Fall start.

What You Will Learn
Upon completion of the program you will be able to:
1. Model a holistic view of health that integrates mind-body-spirit in illness prevention and wellness promotion
2. Cultivate professional therapeutic relationships by demonstrating empathy and healing presence, maintaining healthy boundaries, providing a non-judgmental and welcoming space
3. Demonstrate professionalism, inclusion, and cultural sensitivity when representing yourself, our Integrative Health program, FRCC, and your selected professional field
4. Identify and describe the fundamental similarities and differences between traditional/allopathic, alternative, holistic, complementary, and integrative health medical models
5. Explain the impact of physical and emotional self-care on general well-being, illness prevention, and health maintenance for health professionals as well as clients
6. Describe the impact of stress on health and wellness as well as practice, teach, and/or demonstrate techniques for stress reduction in regards to health management
7. Effectively communicate using appropriate medical terminology, sharing health-related knowledge, and utilizing active listening skills
8. Demonstrate critical thinking, specific skills/techniques, safety protocols, and proficiency in performing/ practicing at least one specific holistic modality
9. Display professional, ethical conduct in accordance with each modality’s Scope of Practice and professional accrediting organization(s), demonstrate integrity in communicating knowledge and applying skills
10. Participate as a member of Integrative Health Professions: involvement in the integrative health field, upholding ethical standards and professional guidelines, integrating knowledgeable, reflective, and critical perspectives on holistic health, sitting for state and/or national certification or credentialing exams, seeking professional affiliation memberships, and engaging in informed advocacy for at least one specified modality
