Program Description
The Pharmaceutical Sciences A.A.S. degree is designed to allow students an opportunity to complete 72 credits and enter the workforce as pharmacy managers and/or in pharmacy manufacturing. This degree also provides students a pathway to continue their studies toward a Pharm.D. with Regis University. Students transferring to Regis University will continue their pathway in Pharmaceutical Sciences pursuing a program that focuses on the basic sciences that underlie drugs and drug therapy, and that prepares individuals for further study and/or careers in pharmaceutical science and research, pharmaceutical administration and sales, biotechnology, drug manufacturing, regulatory affairs, and related fields. This degree includes instruction in mathematics, biology, chemistry, physics, statistics, pharmaceutics, pharmacology and toxicology, dosage formulation, manufacturing, quality assurance, and regulations. This program has been designed to help improve the pipeline to employment and address a shortage of Pharmacists in Colorado. The bulk of the A.A.S. degree is general education with 8 credits of Pharmacy Technician coursework.
